HPL Wall Cladding in Cairo
Paint in a washroom corridor lasts until the first trolley hits it. Ceramic tiles last longer, but the grout goes black. HPL wall cladding is one flat sheet with no grout, and a scuff wipes off. Cairo House supplies and fits it from UNISCE compact HPL, the brand we’re sole agent for in Egypt.
HPL Wall Cladding for Washrooms, Corridors and Changing Rooms
Cladding goes where walls take a beating or get wet every day:
- Washroom walls behind sinks and urinals. Splashes all day, no grout to clean.
- Hospital and school corridors. Trolleys, bags and shoulders hit the wall at the same height every day.
- Gym changing rooms and pool areas. Water and steam.
- Kitchens and food areas. A surface you can wash down.
If the room also needs cubicles, we clad it in the same colour as the compact HPL toilet partitions so the whole washroom matches.
Compact HPL Cladding vs Paint, Tiles and Thin Laminate
| Compact HPL cladding | Paint | Ceramic tiles | Laminate on MDF | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Water | Takes it | Peels | Grout stains | Swells at the edge |
| Knocks | Takes it | Chips | Cracks | Dents |
| Cleaning | Wipe | Repaint | Scrub grout | Wipe, until it swells |
| Joins | Few, flat | None | Every tile | Few |
The full material comparison is on our compact HPL vs Corian, MDF and PVC page.
UNISCE Cladding Sheets in 16 Colours
Charcoal and grey hide marks in busy corridors. White and light grey keep a clinic bright. Light oak and dark walnut give a hotel or office the look of timber in a wet room. See them on real jobs: charcoal, light oak, grey marble.
Corian Wall Cladding for a Seamless Finish
Where you want no visible joins at all, we clad in 6 mm JAICAN solid surface instead. The joins are bonded and sanded, and a scratch years later sands out. We’re the exclusive distributor of JAICAN in Egypt. See our Corian and solid surface work.

HPL Wall Cladding Questions
What thickness do you use for wall cladding? Compact HPL sheets are 12 mm. For Corian wall cladding we use 6 mm JAICAN solid surface.
Can HPL cladding go behind sinks and inside showers? Yes. Compact HPL is the same material all the way through, so water on a cut edge doesn’t swell it.
Do the cladding panels match your partitions? Yes. Cladding comes from the same UNISCE sheets as our partitions, in the same 16 colours.
Can you clad over existing tiles? We decide that on the site visit, after we check the wall is sound and flat.
How do I clean it? Soap and water. A marker or a scuff wipes off. Keep neat bleach and strong solvents off it.
Do you sell cladding sheets without installation? Yes. Contractors buy full sheets in 122 × 244 or 183 × 244 cm from us.
Is it fire rated? TÜV SÜD classed the 12 mm UNISCE panel B-s1, d0 to EN 13501-1 in March 2025. We hand over the report.
How fast can you come? Site visit within 48 hours of your call.
